Nursing is more of a calling than just of an occupation! This is all about the art of creating such favorable conditions for patients’ recovery as order, proper ventilation, unfettered environment, proper nutrition and control of vitals. The unique task of nursing is "to assist people in sickness or health in any effort related to their health, recovery or death with dignity in a manner they themselves would choose, if it was for their strength, knowledge and will". A nurse participates in providing high quality healthcare in line with prescriptions of a doctor in the best interest of a patient. A nurse is a healthcare team member, she assists senior medical staff, contributes to planning and implementation of a full program of action in any sphere ranging from disease prevention and treatment to palliative care.
